History The Shaldag class Fast Patrol Boat is a small but fast class of patrol boats developed for the Israeli Sea Corps (ISC) and launched in 1989, it has since seen service with several other navies. Designed for security tasks where high intercept speeds are required, such as interdiction of terrorism and illegal smuggling. Its salient features are as follows; High speed in rough seas, with good sea keeping and outstanding maneuverability Exceptionally low slamming in all sea states Dry decks at all speeds Very spacious and accessible internal arrangement Description The boats have a smooth hull, V-shaped with a pointed nose and a relatively high continuous main deck (the drought) and from stem to stern. Deck superstructure is higher, given the size of the boat and quite dimensional. The hull, deck and cabin superstructure are made of aluminum alloy used in the Navy. The hull is divided into six watertight compartments. Boat space / the crew are fully air-conditioned. The drive unit can be used with 2 types dieslového engine. Each one drives the other type of controllable water jets. For engines MTU 12V 396 TE are water jets Ka Me Wa (always 2 jets with 2 engines) engines for Deutz / MWM TBO 604 BV16 (16V TBD 620) are designed nozzles LIPS (again two jets with 2 engines). For them, the hull jail 10.000 kg of fuel (diesel). This powerful drive system (2,500 horsepower), together with a suitably shaped hull enables a high average speed (45 knots) and a short reach very high speeds (up to 50 knots for 1 minute). The vessel also has a deck on the sides of two pins, which can be placed in a universal machine gun FN MAG/M240 (7.62 mm) or large caliber machine gun Browning M2HQCB (12.7 mm) or automatic grenade mod.3 Mk.19 AGL ( 40mm).
